Side Effects Of Stopping Aricept Cold Turkey? Have Short-term Memory Loss Due To Brain Injury

My primary care doctor suggested I stop 10mg. dosage of aricept. I have been on it for6 years and was prescribed it as a trial to see if it helped with my short term memory problems after I had a brain injury from a fall. I have not been evaluated since I was prescribed it by a neurologist. So I have stopped the drug and want to see if I see a decline or not. My question for now is possible side effects from stopping the drug cold turkey. I would like to know what to watch for and how to handle them if I do experience negatives from the stoppage. I am female and 66 years old. Thank you.

Hello. The drug you take is used with a very specific objective with: Delaying the progression of Alzheimer's disease.Besides its effectiveness is moderate
In your situation is not as necessary to take this drug, you should not stop taking abruptly but I think that no adverse effects will appear for it.
Go to a Neurologist. He will review and will prescribe right treatment.
I wish you good health.
