Sleeplessness After Taking Prednisolone For Inflammed Joints. Side Effects?

Hello. I started taking 40mg of Prednisolone 2 days ago for inflammation in my joints (toes), it seems to be working however I haven't been able to sleep and have been awake for over 24 hours now. Could this be a side-effect of this type of medication please? Chat forums say yes however a pharmacist I spoke to said he hadn't heard of that before (even though it mentions it in the leaflet with the medication). Thanks, Ashley

hi ! ashley ! you can take this medicine once or twice but never for too long but about toe swelling it could be due to other disease like gout, kidney infection, heart problem, so need to consult with physician for proper diagnose. now about sleep, the dose you have taken is not that high, again just consult the medic and soon thing will be fine. take care. bye.
