Slightly Swollen Legs, Minor Needles In Foot. History Of Fall And Breaking Of Ribs. Prescribed Rest. Concerning?

I am 64 yr old female. I fell 3wks ago and broke some ribs. went to dr. at 2 and half wks. said to rest, no exercise for up to 6 wks no driving. The last few days I noticed my leg is swelling slightly, not red, no fever and I hav minor "needles" in my foot like it is going to sleep. My pain is very manageable now and not close to what it was What could be the cause of this swelling? Should I call or see dr. again?

Hi and welcome to HCM

Pain and slight swelling in your leg seems to be due to muscular spasm.
Doing hot fomatation and applying muscle relaxant gel will be helpful.
Taking methylcobalamin supplements will be helpful for minor needle sensation in your foot. You can take anti-inflammatory drug like motrin to reduce pain .
If the swelling persist after these measures, get it evaluated by your doctor.

Hope this will helps you. Take care.
