Small Child, Fever, Cough, Nasal Discharge, White Patch Inside Cheek. Causes?
My eight month old has a fever , cough , sneezy, runny nose , sleepy, still has an appetite though i thought it was just a cold that has been going around the family but this morning i noticed he has a white patch on the inside of his cheek near the corner of his mouth. Could this just be from his fever or something worse that i need to take him in?

Thank you for your query.
I suggest that you try scraping the white patch which will be removed leaving a reddish area. This is usually due to yeast infection (oral thrush). You need to ensure bottle hygiene and can give clotrimazole lotion 2 drops three times a day for a week.
Oral thrush has nothing to do with the fever.

your child is have respiratory infection which is usually viral in origin.I advise you to give paracetamol when fever is above 100F ,give her plenty of fluids,warm warm will be soothing for her.
White patch may be oral candidiasis for which you can apply nystatin 3 to 4 times a day.
In case symptoms do not settle take her to pediatrician
Your baby will be fine.
