Small Child, Suffering From Diarrhea. Prescribed Ofloxacin, Amikacin Sulphate Injection. Safe To Give?

My daughter is now 5 month old and she has a diaheria since about 3 weeks. We went to doctor at her first week of diaherria and Dr. has prescribed norfloxin and it looks okay for some time, but again she started having about 5 to 6 poops in a day., So we visited the doctor again, this time he gave us an option to go with either ofloxacin 50mg or Amikacin sulphate 250mg injection . I am not sure what to do, please help us whether any of these medicines are safe for my 5 month old.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for your query,
Is your child exclusively breastfed child?
Or are you giving any bottle feeding?
Diarrhea in exclusively breastfed infants is rare.
Those medications are safe if given as per the prescription of a Pediatrician in accurate dosage according to his weight and for appropriate duration.
Hope I have answered your query.

Pediatrician, Surgery Dr. Anand Sinha's  Response
Hi
Thank you for your query
I would like the child to investigated a bit more before rapidly changing the antibiotics. And i believe we also need to give your child a course of metronidazole (for dose you should contact a pediatrician). We would like to get a stool examination to begin with. It might turn out to be non infective in which case anitibiotics are not recommended
Hope that helps
God bless you
