Small, Fleshy Lump Outside Anus, No Pain Or Discomfort. Treatment Options?

Hi, a few months ago I found small fleshy lump just on the outside of my anus . I have never been constipated, had anal sex but I do where thongs on a regular basis. I was wondering what this lump actually is, there s no pain or discomfort but it just makes me feel mentally uncomfortable. If I were to go to a GP what would they do to me?Thank you very much

Such lump can be a hemorrhoid, rectal polyp, rectal cancer or condyloma. Hemorrhoid is red or dark red in color, can be painful and usually gives fresh blood in the stool. Rectal polyp or rectal cancer can be painless however blood in stool can be also present. Condyloma is painless lump caused by HPV infection due to anal sex.
You should definitely visit your doctor for rectal examination and possible colonoscopy. This should be diagnosed as cancer has to be ruled out.
