Hi Doc, I have a small wound on both my thighs, it has been there for almost 8 months now, i have tried antibacterial creams, oral antibiotics and also Dexamethasone Acetate and Framycetin Sulphate cream but still the wound is there. It was a small blister at the beginning and now its a small dark patch. its always itching but there is no pus or substance. I used to have my lap top on my legs for a long period of time but i have stopped it after the wound developed. your help and advice will be greatly appreciated. Regards.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi there Rumesh.

This problem of 8 mths needs to be looked at by a dermatologist on the ground.

From your description & history, it appears to be some sort of contact dermatitis or frictional induced problem due to the excessive use of your laptop.

It may require a local skin or excision biopsy which can only be decided upon visualising the area.

It can easily be done in the Outpatient under local anaesthesia & charges would vary with the facility.

Do hope this advice has pointed you in the direction of an informed deciscion. Cheers & good luck. Here's to a clear skin!!
