Sore And Painful Wrist Joint, Unable To Move Thumb And Wrist, Weak Hands. On Medication For Spondylitis. Arthritis?

My left wrist joint is very sore and painful and I am unable to move or operate my thumb or wrist without being in pain. My hand has got very weak. |I don't want to bother the doctor if I can help it. This started about 4 weeks ago and the pain is constant, because of my age - 66yrs I can only presume it is arthritic or rheumatism. It is also difficult to do daily chores, shower or wash my hair. I would be grateful if you could advise me what to do and what medication I can take. I am on medication for Spondilitis (hope I have spelt that ok) and take 1 x Naproxen daily, Amitriptyline, Bendroflumethiazie & Omeprazole. Just a bit of advice would help, many thanks.

Welcome to HCM.The weakness may be secondary to compression of the cervical spinal nerve roots apart from any joint or bone disorder which needs to be ruled out.A neurological consultation with a neurosurgeon after MRI scan of the cervical spine would be advisable in your case.
