Soreness And Pain In Pelvic Area, Had Hysterectomy Years Back. Recently Began Walking, Jogging. Any Ideas?

I had a successful hysterectomy by da vinci for uterine cancer 3 years ago. all has gone great. I have recently begun walking and at some points jogging. When I first wake up i have a soreness and pain in the pelvic area upon waking up. As soon as I get up and walk it goes away. But this has happened daily. Could it be the jogging?

Hello and welcome to HCM.

Thank you for your query.

I can understand your concern, although you have not mentioned your age, and any regular medication that you are on. Women experience a number of symptoms post-hysterectomy, some of which appear almost immediately after a hysterectomy whereas some tend to appear much later.

In my opinion, this is nothing serious and could just be related to the hysterectomy. In the absence of a uterus, the pelvic floor muscles, and other muscles around it has more space than usual, this can cause an abnormal movement of those muscles or other pelvic organs which can cause pain or even soreness.

Just to be on the safer side, you could request for an ultrasound, which would rule out any abnormalities in the pelvic region. But, I am sure there is nothing serious to worry about.

I hope I have succeeded in providing the information you were looking for. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications at: http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-shoaib-khan/64581 . I would gladly help you.

Best wishes.
