Sporadic Blood In Urine With Clots. History Of Blood In Urine, Cystoscope Of Bladder Showed Normal. Any Further Tests?
Thank you. I had a series of episodes of blood in urine about 18 months ago. Dr. did a cystoscope and said that there was nothing in the bladder that he could see. I went until about 2 weeks ago when the bleeding started again. It is NOT constant but sporadic, happening about every other day - but each time I see blood, a clot is also discernable. What further tests might you suggest? Should I be concerned?
Hello Thanks for your query.Based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have frank hematuria and needs to be investigated thoroughly to find out the cause of bleeding. It could be due to either stones in the kidney or any mass lesion in the kidney. You need to get following investigations under supervision of qualified Urologist. 1) Ultrasound Scanning of the abdomen. 2) C.T Scan of the abdomen with I.V contrast. Dr.Patil.
