Sporadic Pain In Toe Joint, Acute Pain Behind Knee Cap. Inconclusive Blood Results. Any Ideas?
Hi I have had sporadic pain in my big toe joint for several years. Blood Tests have been inconclusive and swelling rarely occurs. Last night I suffered acute pain behind my kneecap, keeping me awake most of the night; it is just easing off now. Again, no swelling. I am 57, fit and active, have a varied diet, never drink to excess but a stone or so overweight. What do you reckon?
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The pain in the joints that you are having can be due to polyarthritis or gout or osteoarthritic changes. A direct examination and X-ray of the affected joints will help in the diagnosis. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
