Stabbing Pain In The Stomach, Stomach Swollen, Chills, Constant Nausea. CT Scan Shows Supraumbilical Hernia. Intermediate Solution Until Surgery?
I was in the er last weekend because I have been having severe stabbing like pain in my stomach, chills, and my stomach has been swollen and hard for a couple of weeks now. After a ct scan they found I have a supraumbilical hernia. Sent me home with some pain meds and told me to follow up with a surgeon. I won't have insurance until after the first of the year, but it seems to be getting worse and I have no clue what to do. I can barely eat or drink, bowel movements MAYBE every other day, can't sleep because my stomach is so swollen and hard and pain is even worse, oh, and constantly feel likr throwing up. I am overweight and a type 2 diabetic. Please help.

I have gone through your question in detail and I can understand what you are going through.
Supraumbilical hernia needs to be treated as untreated hernia can cause intestinal obstruction. That is a serious emergency. Hence you should get operated as soon as possible. Until then you can use abdominal belt.
Hope I am able to answer your concerns.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
