Stomach Pain, Vomiting, Nausea. Have Obesity. What To Do?

I have been experiencing stomach pain and vomiting periodically for the last 2 years. The most recent bout I am going through now. I experience acute pain in my stomach followed by nausea and vomiting this can last for a couple of days to weeks with periods of normalcy in between. I have tried eliminating different foods and still wind up with this horrible painful nausea and if I eat anything I vomit between 1-6 hours later. The only food I've been able to keep down in the last 2 weeks is an apple, a banana, and mashed potatoes. My doctor in the past has told me it must be "something I'm eating." I'm obese so my complaints are never taken seriously, since I'm fat I must be able to eat right? I'm at a loss and don't know what to do.

Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

Your weight should never influence whether a medical professional takes your complaints seriously.

It is possible that you are allergic or have an intolerance to some foods. An allergy test can determine whether this is the case. Allergy testing can be in the form of blood test or skin prick testing. You can consider speaking to your doctor about having the test done.

In addition you may want to consider referral to a gastroenterologist for an complete evaluation of your symptoms. This may be the best person to determine the exact cause complaints.

I hope this helps
