Stomach Sour, Gets Distended Without Eating, Difficulty In Bowel Movement. What Should I Do?

Recently, for about the past week, my stomach has been sour-feeling, it gets distended without eating very much and I have had the most foul smelling gas (I rarely have gas). I have not changed my diet and in addition, I have been suddendly having difficuty with my bowel movements. I juice organic veggies daily, do not eat red meat and eat unprocessed organic foods. Its as though something is blocked in my stomach and literally is putrifing. Any ideas? thanks, L PS: my stomach is often painful and I feel nauseated.

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
Do you have acidic belching/ abdominal discomfort/ gargling sound in abdomen/ abdominal bloating after taking meals?
With the available described symptoms, there appears to be possibility of peptic ulcer disease with decreased gastrointestinal motility.
ou should consult with internal medicine specialist/ gastroenterologist and should go for thorough check up.
You should also go for ultrasound imaging, endoscopy and serum amylase and lipase, thyroid profile, blood sugar level, and serum calcium.
Endoscopy will also rule out possibility of gastric outlet obstruction.
You should also go for urea breathe test for H. Pylori.
If Urea breathe test is found to be positive then you have to take complete eradication therapy for H. Pylori bacteria.
Meanwhile, you should take proton pump inhibitors along with prokinetics for relief of your symptoms.
Avoid oily and spicy food.
Take care,
Dr. Mayank Bhargava
