Stools Smelled Bad, Stomach Pain In Child. Whats The Reason?

Our 18 years old baby, awaked up crying, we notice of his poop, and this is the first time we feel that it smelled bad, it seems he has some pain, he did 3 times in 30 minutes, smell bad, no diarrhea . What could that be? We are thinking if we did something different in his lunch or dinner, but it has been pretty mch the same. Thanks

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query on Healthcare Magic.

Your child is having gastroenteritis mostly due to a virus or a bacteria.

This happened from contamination may be with food, water, or by keeping hands into mouth.

Stool should be given for routine examination and for culture and sensitivity to detect the infection and the type of organism.

Give plenty of oral rehydration fluids like Pedialyte, coconut water, and lemon water to maintain hydration of the child.

Probiotic like lactobacillus sachet or saccharomyces can be given orally.

Monitor hydration status.

Consult the doctor for assessment and for specific treatment.

Hope I have answered your query.

Regards.
