Strained Heart, Gas, Burping While Trying To Sleep. Should I Be Worried?
I m a 32 year old male and I m having some strange feelings while trying to get to sleep. For several nights I feel like my heart is strained. But I have also noticed a lot of gas as I toss and turn causing me to burp. Should I be worried or is it just anxiety that is caused by gas being pushed up by my heart and putting pressure?
Hi,
Welcome to HCM
Your description is more like hyperacidity and reflux disorder, but it is better to exclude cardiac cause so get a ECG first and if every thing is fine, some antacid and Ranitidine or Omeparazole like drugs may be taken with consultation of your Physician.
Later on you may go for a Tread mill Test.
Please avoid taking oily and heavy meal in dinner have a walk after taking meal.
Take sufficient amount of water and by chance if you smoke and drink alcohol please avoid as they make condition worse.
If you are not comfortable with drugs plan a upper GI endoscopy to see condition of stomach and upper G.I.
A test for H.Pylori and if positive triple therapy may help you.
In the mean time also take prebiotics and probiotics to improve gut health.
Good Luck to you
