Sudden Onset Of Extreme Pain Which Causes Hard Nodules On Wrist Or Shoulder, Swollen And White Gums, Taking Meloxicam. Cause?

I have been getting sudden onset of extreme pain which results in hard nodules formed on wrist or shoulder where the pain occurs. I was tested for very high Anti CCP, normal RF, normal CRP and have been put on meloxicam. Since two weeks I have noticed that my upper row of gums is swollen and has become white. What is going on?

Thanks for asking.

As you are positive for anti -CCP antibodies which implies rheumatoid arthritis,the nodules on the body are probably rheumatoid nodules.

These occur on the extensor surface in a patient of rheumatoid arthritis and are usually not a marker of the severity of the disease.

Gum swelling is probably not related to rheumatoid arthritis.
