Sudden Onset Of Nasal Dent, Redness And Swelling. History Of Cellulitis. Treatment?
My nose all of a sudden has a dent in it. I had celluitis of the nose about 3 or 4 years ago and had to get an IV and take a couple of antibiotics. Then it went away. But lately it has been quite red and a little (very slightly) swollen then went down a tiny bit and now I've had this dent. What do you think it is and how do I get it back to normal?
I read your query regarding sudden nasal dent, redness and swelling, you had similar dent about 3 or 4 year ago also.
Whenever nose gets injured by hit the soft tissue over the bone gets crushed therefore swelling appears on the site of trauma. If there is no underlying fracture of nasal bones than swelling disappears in 8 to 10 days. On the other hand if it is associated wiyh fracture of nasal bones than swelling takes more time to disappear and there remaines deformity of nose.
Considering the above matter it will be better to consult ENT specialist to rule out fracture of nasal pyramid, and treatment.
hope above answers your query.
Regards.
