Suffer From Degenerative Disc Disease And Have Herniated Discs. Took Many Medicines, Relief Only With Carisoprodol
I suffer from degenerative disc disease and currently have 5 herniated discs- 2 severely degenerated in cervical area, 1 moderate in thoracic region, and 2 moderate in my lumber region. I had surgery in 2007 to remove C2-3 disc and I have a bone fusion as well as plate and screws. I have taken several different medicines for muscle spasms from my damaged spine. Everyone I have spoken to tells me that Carisoprodol is the best medicine for my condition. I have tried Flexeral, Baclofen, and my new medicine is tizanidine, and I don t believe it is working any more than the Baclofen. I have no insurance and am self pays so I search for cheapest medicines. The Carisoprodol is actually half the price of my current meds. I really need help and my Dr just switches my medicines around. What can I do??????? Thank you- Tammi Drawdy

Suffer From Degenerative Disc Disease And Have Herniated Discs. Took Many Medicines, Relief Only With Carisoprodol
Hi there. According to treatment protocol for your lumbar and thoracic disc the next step would be Epidural Steroid injection (locally in the spine). One cannot keep on taking medicines forever. These injections can be given once every 3 weeks........for 3 times. Proper spine extension exercises and posture precautions have to be taken. If even after 3 injections the pain is not manageable. ....then surgery is the only option. I hope my advice has helped Good luck
