Suffered A Second Degree Burn On Nose, Head Feels Full Of Pus. Worry About The Infection?

Almost 2 weeks ago my husband suffered a second degree burn in his nose from a flash fire. Most of the damage has healed but he wakes up every day saying his head feels full of pus . As the day wears on he s draining and feels generally better but I m worried about a infection. His nose is still somewhat raw inside (and painful) and blood is in the discharge when he blows it.
