Suffering From Dirofilaria Immitis, Elephantiasis, Severe Lung Pain. Treatment?

have dirofilaria immitis...severe heart lung pain..elephantiasis developing from mosquitoes in FL 2007. My doctor very ill....now gone. No one will administer IV antibiotics. Filaria ignored in the US. Already contacted your office. noticed your graduated from McGill. This is good.
will travel for treatment......would like to send my medical records for your review. you are 4 1/2 hours from Louisville....not bad....know u deal primarily with obesity...but hoping you have tropical background ....McGill is noted for that

Hi and thanks for the query,

The first step in the management of elephantiasis is a proper and confirmed diagnosis of this condition. When this done, there are specific anti parasitic drugs that do exist. However, these drugs initially need to be taken with a lot of caution for they generally produce adverse reactions, which could be serious and fatal in some patients. At times, depending on the clinical examination, surgical removal or invasive endoscopic techniques might be attempted to facilitate lymph flow.
