Hi,
You are suffering from back pain associated with leg pain - 1 yr duration. Is it associated leg pain pain in the back radiating to one or both legs. You explained the MRI lumar spine with lumbo sacral joints clearly - indicating your exact problem.
Foramina - are open passageways on either side of each vertebra. These passageways provide a space through which spinal nerve roots leave the spinal column and join the complex network of nerves.
You have mild Neural Foraminal Compromise - a condition where the foremen of the spinal column becomes narrowed. This condition is primarily due to degeneration of spinal discs. This degeneration process causes bulging of the discs that results to the narrowing which causes the nerves to be compresses thus causing several neural symptoms. Treatment as per degree of compression.
Medical managent:
Low-impact exercise, pain medication, restorative yoga, Alternating hot and cold compression.
If medical management fails - surgical decompression:
Latest technique - endoscopic minimally invasive decompression procedures.
Consult Nero surgeon and follow his advise
Best wishes

Hello,
Welcome at HCM.

I have read your question. It looks from your details that you may be having degenerative spine disease(lumber spondylosis) with mild prolapse of disc at l4/5.Generally these changes in spine develops after lack of exercises & abnormal use of back.

Details which you have posted does not looks to be serius .You should not worry & should do following exercises to have relief-

You may also do following-

-Avoid abnormal bending at back.Never bend at right angle at back. This generates an excessive pressure at disc.

-Wear some braces like taylor braces, which are available in market ,to keep your posture in right position.

-Take some supplements like glucosamine & chondroitin ,which are helpful in alleviating symptoms of degenerative changes at joints.

-Take a good & safe analgesic like paracetamol in right dosages.

-Do warm fomentation at your back.

Hope this all will help you.

Wish you a happy & healthy life.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement Dr. Saurabh Gupta's  Response
Hello and Welcome to HCM,
Thanks for writing to us.
MRI reports are suggestive of lumbar spondylosis with degenerative disc disease with PIVD where the nerves get compressed by the protruded disc.
For this condition you have to do stretching & strengthening exercises in which you have to stretch tight muscle & strengthen weakened ones which will alleviate stress on facet joint and disc.
The following measures will help with the pain
• Lie on a hard bed.
• Anti -inflammatory drugs like Tablet Motrin 1 tablet as and when required ( do not repeat a dose before 6 hours) with food will help relieve the pain.
• Avoid forward bending.
• Correct your posture while sitting
• Avoid prolonged sitting
• Avoid strenuous activity & lifting heavy weights.
• Apply diclofenac gel on the affected area. Warm compresses will also help.
Hope this helps you.
Wishing you good health...
Regards.
Dr Saurabh Gupta.
