Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have sciatica pain for the past month. I saw two docs and they both agreed that is what it is in my left leg. The pain is unbearable and I have tried many different kinds of pain meds, topical salve also. None seem to help. Is there anything else I can do for this pain? MaryLou Barrett. YYYY@YYYY Sorry, I thought this was a service offered by MD's - I can get free medical advice from any doctor by phone.. Thanks anyway.
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. In case of sever sciatica pain, it is best to get some muscle relaxants prescribed to reduce the compression of the nerve root. Local steroid injections may also be considered for symptomatic relief. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. Regards, Dr. Praveen Tayal , drtayal72@gmail.com
