Suffering From Vertigo. MRI Is Normal. Diagnosed With Degeneration In C-5, C-6 In Cervical Spine, BPPV. On Allegra. Treatment?

Sir! I was suffering from vertigo some 18 months back and after x-rays and MRI (was normal), I was diagnosed with degeneration in C-5 and C-6 in cervical spine and also BPPV. I was advised to take Allegra-120 mg (1*5 days), Eliwel 25 mg (1 HS for 3 weeks) and vertigon-25 mg (1*2*3 days). I was also advised to do "particle re-positioning exercises". I felt better. Later on, I was diagnosed with Ca_bladder (urethrial papillary carcinoma of low grade) and TURBT was done followed by six cycles of Mytomycin C 40 mg (instillation in bladder). Now, I am ok except the problem of chronic epididymitis. I am also hypertensive and on medication (Repace 50 mg once daily) for more than last 10 years.

Now, i am having neck pain and vertigo again. What should I do? Please advise

Hi and thanks for the query,

I would suggest you get reevaluated by your family physician. Common causes of vertigo should be checked for first. In your case, I would suggest a careful evaluation of the drugs you are taking. Allegra causes vertigo in some patients. It would be interesting to have a normal blood pressure control. Chronic epididimytis deserves long term treatment that go up to a month with antibiotics. The pain you are experiencing at the level of the neck, considering the results of the MRI, deserves the opinion of your neurosurgeon. Drugs, blood pressure control normalization and the opinion of a neurosurgeon are my advice. thanks and kind regards.
