Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Suffering With Rheumatoid Arthritis, Have Knee Pain. History Of Surgeries On Knee. What Can Be Done?
I have rheumatoid arthritis (diagnosed 18 months ago at age 31) and they feel that I may have had the juvenile form but was never diagnosed until my wrist pain started 2 years ago. I have had 5 surgeries on my left knee (2 scopes, and 3 tibial tubricle transfers) and am having pretty bad pain in that knee again. How do I know if this is beyond the RA? Exercise seems to make it worse.
I would like to see your X ray. if there is no effect of such surgeries then it is the time to get total knee replacement. this is best procedure and it will definitively provide you pain relief. Till you get this procedure, avoid stair, squating and jogging. Take calcium and vitamin D3.
