Suggest A Good Laxative In The Interim

I have had side aches and very limited bowel movements and my doctor says I had a favorable colonoscpy some three years ago and he told me to take a good laxative for the next month and see if that helps as I have had a history of irriatable bowel syndrom. What is a good laxative for me to take in the interim.
