Suggest A Painless Method For Undergoing Cystoscopy

Hi, i have been experiencing painful urination. I am 45 years old. I have had two children, then a tubal ligation was done in 2000. I had an ablation approx. 3 years ago. the pain when urinating has been intermittent for several months now. Could it be due to scar tissue? I went to urulogist who tested my urine. he said it was perfect. Doctor said i need a cystoscopy. I tried to get through it at his office but couldn t because it was so painful. Is there a less painful way to get through a cystoscopy? Can I be sedated for this procedure?
