Suggest A Treatment For Thyroid Related Disorder

A few years ago I had an infection in my thyroid needle biopsy to drain the fluid. I gained lots of weight over this time. After I had a child I began losing weight which I at first thought was because I was breast feeding, but it came that I was losing so much that I weighed less than my skinny teenage daughter. I began to have memory loss and was exhausted most of the time. I went to a health fair and had my THS tested resulting in it being extremely low (healthy is above .25 and mine was .02) meaning that my thyroid was over active. My T cells are normal. Which means my thyroid is normal, because THS comes from the petuitary gland I m assuming something might be wrong with it. My doctor doesn t know much about it all and didn t know what to do. Help?!

Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
You have past infection in thyroid with currently very low TSH level and weight loss. Your symptoms suggest that you have hyperthyroidism. You should check your T3 & T4 level. Drugs like propylthyouracil or carbimazole/methimazole are useful in treating hyperthyroidism.

Pituitary hyposecretion of TSH is very rare. So first of all we should think about common cause. Its very common to have normal T3, T4 level and very low TSH level in hyperthyroidism.

Consult your doctor and take treatment accordingly

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any doubts then feel free to ask me. I will be happy to answer.
