Suggest Alternative To Barium Enema Procedure For Descending Colon

Yes, I recently had a colonoscopy, my dr. Said I had a narrowing to small to get the scope through. 1 polyp was removed. Now he wants me to have a barium enema done to evaluate the left descending colon. I have heard horror stories about this procedure. My mother in law had this done and it set up like cement . This was several years ago 2006. Have they made progress doing this procedure? Is there an alternative to this.

Hello dear

Warm welcome to Healthcaremagic.com
I have evaluated your query in details .

* Thin barium enema has no issues of clogging as per the past thick
barium .
* Still can discuss the scope of MRI in stead of that which will demarcate
intraluminal details .

Hope this will help to clear your doubt .
Wishing you fine recovery .

Regards .
