Suggest An Alternative Medicine For Arthritis Apart From Tapentadol And Gabapentin

I have bad arthritis all over but the place that gives me so much pain is my lumbar area I have been told I have stenosis of the spine there at 4/5 vertebrae. I have tried various pain relief tablets and at present taking tapentadol and gabapentin . Is there anything better I can take or non drugs to relieve my pain? Brenda

Hello Brenda!

Welcome on Healthcaremagic!

I understand your concern and would like to know the dose of gabapentine that you are actually taking.
I would not recommend taking for a long time Tapentadol as it may lead to addiction and also tolerance, leading to lower effects after a prolonged intake.
Coming to this point, I would recommend increasing the dose of gapapentine or adding an antidepressant like amitriptyline to your actual therapy.
Hope you will find this answer helpful!
Kind regards, Dr. Aida
