Suggest An Alternative To Itraconazole

Hello, what other antifungal meds are out there doing the same job as Itraconazole? I just found out that I need a prior auth for Itraconazole, I am trying to find one of equal strength that will do the same job without a prior auth. Thanks for your time and help in this matter.

Hello and thanks for your question. There are many antifungal medications on the market. What you need to do is get the formulary for your insurance and see which ones they cover without a prior approval. Then show this to your doctor so they can order the one that is right for your particular infection. Good health to you.
