Suggest An Alternative To Metoprolol Tartrate

i am 54 and just had a heart attack and had two stents put in. I was prescribed 25 mg of metoprolol tartrate twice a day, it was reduced to 12.5 mg twice a day since I was feeling very tired. I am still very tired and have had a headach everyday. Is there alternative medicines I can take that would not give me these side effects?

Hello
You are having HEADACHE even with 12.5 mg dose of metoprolol .
You were operated and they put stent (2 ).
Metoprolol is a beta blockers , while your doctor prescribed this drug after careful examination .
So the medicine of this group will cause headache .
You can take telmisartan for high blood pressure .
BUT MIND IT THIS IS MY OPINION & based on your query so I recommend you consult your cardiologist and get his opinion regarding this drug ( telmisartan ) .
This is angiotensin II receptor blockers ,so first consultation is important .
I find this answer helpful
