Suggest An Alternative Treatment For Meniscal Tear In Knees Apart From Surgery

I had an MRi of my knees and it was diagnosed that I have meniscal tear in both knees. I have some pain and take anti-inflammatory pill each day & tylenol several times a day.. Surgery was recommended. It is supposed to be minor surgery to repair it, but nonetheless, it is surgery. Is there another alternative to surgery...like therapy? Thank you

For less severe meniscal injury some simple exercises can help maintain muscle strength in the front of the thigh (quadriceps), back of the thigh (hamstrings), calf, and hip. All of these areas are important for your overall leg function while your knee heals after an injury or after surgery. Exercises should only be done on the advice of your doctor and only if you feel very minimal or no pain while you do them at home or you can use knee hinge braces to support the knee, which can help in healing. Knee hinge brace will tranfer your weight from thigh to leg.
I hope you will get help with this.
