Pediatrician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Gripe water is given to infants who have colic. Usually colic lasts until a baby is three-four or possibly six months old. If your baby is not crying inconsolably, then please stop it.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Arnold Zedd, MD, FAAP
