Suggest Cause And Remedy For Severe Pain In The Jawline
For about three weeks, I ve had a horrible pain on my left jawline. The doctor I saw suggested maybe an abcess but she didn t look at it nor feel of it. The knot seems to have grown. It aches day and night. Sometimes the pain even shoots up into my ear. If it was an abcess, wouldn t I see it inside my mouth? I don t see anything in there.
Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query. The pain in the jaw line can be because of the periapical abscess or infected periapical cyst secondary to decayed tooth. Nothing to be panic, consult a oral physician and get it evaluated, you have to get a radiograph done to confirm the diagnosis. If it is an abscess or cyst, it can be treated with root canal treatment and apicectomy. Mean while you can take a course of antibiotics like amoxicillin and metronidazole for infection and diclofenac for the pain (if you are not allergic). I hope my answer will help you, take care.
