Suggest Daily Intake Of Carbohydrates In Diabetic Patients

I was just diagnosed with type 1 diabetes .I am 17 years old weigh 124 pounds.I take 46 units of insuilin during the day and 20 units at night mixtard 30.I waas wondering How many grams of carbohydrates should I consume on a daily basis and how many grams of saturated fats?

Hi,

For carbohydrates: Avoid simple sugars like cane sugar, honey, jaggery and sweets and the main carbohydrate source should be cerals, mixed coarse grains, pulses. It should be 50-60% of your total calories, ie you can take upto 200g of carbohydrate.

Saturated fats not more than 10% of total calories. You can consume 8-10g maximum.
