Suggest Diet For Patient Suffering From Diverticulitis

My husband is in the hospital with diverticulictis. Presently he is being treated with antibiotics. This is the 3rd session of occurance. Possible surgery is being suggested. My question is what foods should he avoid and what foods should he include in his diet.

Avoid fat and fried Foods . give more of fibre include sprouts , fruits, salads, channa murmura and green leafy vegetables. No simple sugars, cheese, butter , khoa, less oil in food no groundnut and coconut. No dalda. Can give skim milk. Curds or buttermilk, no pastriet, puffs chiwda chakli No papad pickle avoid simple carbohydrates take complex .
