Suggest Diet Plan For 80 Year Man With Painful Bowel Movements And Gas
i had colon cancer surgery onJan. 2. There were complications and another surgery onJan 10. Kidney was damaged. A stint put in and now I'm home trying to get diet right. Bowels are moving but lots of pain and gas. Dr. said eat anything I want. That's not working. I need a diet plan. I have also lost 26 pounds, down to 141 and still loosing. Lost 1 1/2 pds yesterday. I am male. 82 years old but before surgery in good health.
Hi, Thanks for asking. Based on your query, my opinion is as follows. 1. Gas problem possibly due to change in gut bacteria or associated gastritis. 2. Include probiotics and yoghurt in diet. Take whole grains along with fibers from fruit and vegetables. Also take plenty of water. 3. If it does not reduce after 10 days, you need to watch your diet to look for any food, which is increasing gas problems. Along with it, take proton pump inhibitors to reduce gastritis. Hope it helps. Any further queries, happy to help again.
