hii doc, i got my piles surgery on dec 15, i hv hard stool n it pains a lot for hours after i pass stool in mornings.it bleeds too. my age is 36 and i am from blore.i am taking cremaffin liquid.please help me for the hard stool.give me some diet suggestions.
You must include foods rich in soluble fibre along with plenty of fluids to soften stools so that they can pass through easily without any pain and bleeding. Since you've already had piles, you need to take care of your diet and ensure you do not have constipation. Include oats, oat bran, apples, cucumbers, beans like kidney beans and chick peas, citrus fruits, melons etc. Go for high fibre breakfast cereals or bran containing foods. Include a fruit with your morning meal. Make sure you introduce fibre gradually in your diet and increase the intake slowly as too much fibre taken at a time can cause diarrhoea due to intestinal irritation. Also include plenty of fluids along with fibre rich foods as fibre in the intestines absorbs water and swells up softening the stools. When you increase fibre intake without increasing fluid intake, the effect is opposite. It leads to constipation.
Hope these tips will be useful in providing you relief from piles. Take care.
