Suggest Different Multivitamins Other Than Orange Triad

Hi,yesterday I bought a multivitamin product called Orange Triad. I noticed that it's label says :"this product contains chemicals known to the state of california to cause cancer, or birth defects or other reproductive harm". I am surprised with this. Can you comment on this; should I switch to a different brand of multivitamins?

Welcome to HCM,
If I were you, I would not buy this vitamin. A good vitamin should be hypoallergenic, not have fillers in it, not make health claims and usually come from a professional supply store available only to health clinicians.

I recommend Emerson ecologics, Pure Encapsulations, Metagenics, Thorne supplements as they all meet quality manufacturing standards. Look for the cleanest multivitmitamin you can find. Keep in mind that you can never throw all nutrients in together as there are supplement interactions.

For example, you cannot get your calcium needs met by a multivitamin that you are using to meet your iron needs. They cancel each other out. One really must shop carefully for vitamins to avoid throwing your money away.

I hope i have provided some guidance. Have a great day! Kathryn Shattler, MS,RDN

Good morning!
What I generally recommend to my patients is the Pure Encapsulation brand of O.N.E. The positive feedback I get from my clients who have used this product is entirely positive. If you cannot find a way to get it online, my website carries it.
I also have scrutinized Metagenics and Thorne. I feel they have a good quality control program, but I still use the O.N.E.'s with most of my patients.
The problem with many multivitamins is they through everything but the kitchen sink into their pill with many nutrient-nutrient interactions negating many effects of the actual nutrients in the pill.
Many dietitians recommend Centrum in the hospital setting and in the public sector.

I hope I have given you some ideas. Here's to your health!Kathryn Shattler,MS,RDN
