Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. I m not sure if a vertebra slipped out or if it s something internal. I had bent over to rinse the shampoo out of my child s hair and when I went to straighten out, I couldn t. I was in so much pain I fell to the floor. I had iced, heat, stretched it out. I did a dose of prednisone and flexiril. It did get better but it hasn t fully gone away. It s actually starting to get worse. I can t stand or sit whereas the pain is going all the way to my tailbone. I have NOT lost and bowel or bladder function, which is why I m wondering what it is.
I would like to strongly advise you against using Prednisone so lightly. It isn't a good idea as Prednisone has many side effects. Start with some analgesics like Diclofenac. Some cold and hot packs. Then start off on some physiotherapy. If it comes down to using steroids (unnecessary at this point), it should be an intensely monitored dosing schedule.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Pranav Balakrishnan
