Suggest Dosage For Thyroid Medicine After Thyroid Removal

I had my thyroid removed two year ago and have been playing with doses. My endo and pcp differ on what is the right amount. I am currently taking 125 mcg per day per my pcp; my endo had me on a schedule that equated to 117 mcg but I felt sluggish. Would a bump in this dosage cause any long term effects . . . how will I know if I am taking too much? I am a 59 year old female; 168 lbs. 5 7

Hello,
Your dose needs to be adjusted based on your lab results, there is no other safe way to adjust your medications. Taking a higher dose than indicated by your blood tests can cause harm to you. You can not base thyroid hormone levels upon how you feel
