Suggest Dosage Of Amoxicillin For A 9 Year Old

My 9 year old daughter was diagnosed with strep throat today. She is 80 lbs and about 4'8 tall. Doc prescribed amoxicillin at 2 tsp/10 ml twice daily; however, she has had strep before, and her original doc scripted 3 tsp twice daily for 10 days. What is the right dosage for her age, height and weight?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hello. Thank you for your question. I am sorry your daughter is not well. The appropriate dose of amoxicillin for a patient the weight of your daughter would depend on the concentration of the amoxicillin. If the bottle says 400 mg per 5 ml (or 400/5), then the appropriate dose would be 2 teaspoons twice per day.
