Suggest Effective Dosage For Eptoin 100

for epilipse my brother is taking eptoin 100, 2 times a day, 1.5 tablets in the morning, 1 in the afternoon and another tablet - tegrital 200 once at night, but still the level of serium-diletum after test shows less than 2.5 so my question is should the dosage be increased or he is safe with the current amount of dose

dose of entiepileptic depends upon weight of patient In a patient of 50 kg we give 300 mg per day. As you told u r taking 1 and half tab in morning and 1 tab in evening means he is getting 250 mg per day.....if his wt is more than 50 kg then increase dose to 300 mg per day. Another reason I think is decreased availability of drug despite taking.....some of these formulations are enteric coated and If we break it then absorption may not be 100%. so I would suggest take another tab of 50 mg if u want to take 260 mg.
