Hi & Welcome to HCM.
Incomplete data like the site of the wound not mentioned.
Human
rabies immunoglobulin (HRIG) is generally recommended only for Category III of exposure (single or multiple bites especially on the head, neck, face, hands & genitals or contamination of
mucous membrane with saliva (i.e. licks).
In such cases, the HRIG shot is given as soon as possible following the dog bite. Anti-rabies vaccines like
Rabipur should then be administered,
preferably on the same day, but at a different site (right arm for vaccine and left arm for serum, or vice versa). However, HRIG can be injected up to 7 days after first vaccine dose administration.
If the wound is located on other parts of your body, then there's no need to take HRIG shot.
Rabipur shots should be taken on days 0,3,7,14 & 28 following the dog bite.
Rabipur should be discontinued if the offending animal remains healthy throughout an observation period of 10 days.
Hope I could clear your doubts.
Best wishes.
