Suggest If Dosage Of Coreg 12.5 Should Be Reduced After Low BP In Old Age
My mother is 93...takes coreg12.5, plavix, and many more. Her bp was 98/46 yeaterday and her primary doctor told her to reduce the coreg by half.......her heart doctor was notified but has not responded as of yet. I decided to reduce the coreg (that she takes twice a day)......any thoughts???
In her age it is better to keep systolic BP more than 100. One of the options is to reduce coreg dosage especially if she has slow heart rate. If her heart rate is not slow and she takes other hypotensive medication it could be option to reduce the other's dosage. If you write her mean HR and full list of medication she takes I could help you more effectively.
