Suggest Management For Post Brain Tumour PVP

Hi My I suffer what we believe is p v v p very badly following a brain tumour. Removed benign from my brain stem three years ago. Ive tried the Epley Manoevre and that seems to irritate it. I take a cocktail of drugs, lyrica, tegratol, cyclazine, betahistine, omeprazole, proclorperizine, paracetamol when req d, buscopan when req d . Can you advise me if any of these is bad for this condition? I am constantly very unwell and very very depressed. I am in and out of hospital. I always feel dizzy and sick struggle to keep food down. No-one even my doctor, pain management and neuro surgeon seem to be able to tell me whats happening. Im sure they thinkim making it up. My Scans show the remaining tumour (meningoma) has not grown but has thickening ?????????????? I have trouble round the entry point from the operation with nerve damage. I cant cope.please help! I just want a quality of life again Thanks Paula

Hello....Hope you don't mind if I correct a few things you are saying. It seems that you are interested in knowing details and terminology about what you have so I'm assuming this is of interest to you:

1. BPPV- Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo
2. If your symptoms of vertigo as you describe truly followed the removal of a brainstem tumor (sounds like it would've been either a meningioma or lipoma) then, you do not have BPPV. By definition BPPV is a PERIPHERAL form of vestibular disease whereas any vertigo you have following neurosurgical resection of a tumor would be a central form of disease. That knocks out BPPV as a candidate. This would also explain why the Epley maneuver doesn't work and also why you are on a plethora of drugs that are also (apparently) not doing a whole lot of good either.
3. In fact, of the drugs listed almost every one of them can by itself cause vertigo as a side effect and this risk is increased every time another medication of similar property is added. You've got EIGHT different drugs, 6 of them you take regularly and 2 that you take "as needed."
4. With what I just said in #3 you should be able to now answer the question of whether or not taking THAT MANY MEDICATIONS at the same time for this type of condition could be potentially bad for you. And the answer is?????????? DEFINITELY BAD FOR YOU. You need to STOP THE INSANITY.....STOP ALL THOSE USELESS DRUGS and start something more proactive.
5. Sounds like you would be a candidate for VESTIBULOTHERAPY but unfortunately, this is not going to CURE any problem because the surgery you've had in the brainstem. But it's definitely worth a try.

If you'd like more specific information and to talk about more details of your condition then, please write me a note and let's have our own private conversation: bit.ly/drdariushsaghafi

If this information was useful could you leave some brief feedback and a STAR RATING? Very much appreciated!
