My granddaughter, 26 years old, has had diabetes for 11 years. She has gastroparesis and about 6 years ago had a gastric pacemaker installed. She was fine up until now when she once again began vomiting excessively. Dr.s deduced that perhaps the battery needed replacement and about 2 months ago, this was done. Unfortunately, she still has been unable to hold anything down, even water. They say the pacemaker is working electronically, but not working for digestion. She has been on many meds, which unfortunately, do not stay down either. She has lost about 45 pounds and I am sure extremely malnourished. She has had botox injections as well and her drs. say there is nothing more they can do. It seems no matter what she eats or drinks, it comes right back up. She is depressed and anxious and feels she is going to die, so what is the point of going to another dr. ....so she says. She has been on domperidome and many other meds as well. In and out of the hospital ...the last two times with Dka...
