Common culprit for GERD in today's scenario is a faulty lifestyle. Having Spicy/oily/junk food, minimal physical activity, stress etc. leads to excess acid production, reflux and disturbed esophageal motility.Try out the following tips:

- have a light dinner and wait for about an hour before lying down on bed since that is the gastric emptying time.
- Have about 2-3 litres of water daily as it neutralises the excess acid.
- Have a prokinetic eg. domperidone, metochlopramide along with PPI like lansoprozole, rabeprazole or pantoprozole. Combinations are available in the market. Consult your doctor for the same.
