Hello,

It seems you are having Gastroesophageal reflux disease( GERD). The main modality of treatment is with inhibitors of gastric acid secretion e.g PPI(proton pump inhibitor) like Pantoprazole oral (standard dose 40 mg oral before food/breakfast once a day).

Reflux symptoms tend to be chronic.

Thus, a common management strategy is indefinite treatment with
PPIs or as necessary for symptom control.

Certain Lifestyle modifications are also routinely advised. Avoidance of fatty foods, fried foods, alcohol, spearmint, peppermint, tomato-based foods, garlic and of excessive coffee and tea(not more than 3 cups/day).

Avoidance of hot spicy foods and Adoption of behaviors to minimize reflux and/or heartburn like the elevation of the head of the bed and avoidance of eating before retiring.

Wear loose apparel during sleep. Reduce weight, if obese or overweight.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
